Aeon Privacy Notice
Overview

Aeon is Sercle’s browser-based interactive globe and historical exploration product. This notice explains the information handled by the current public version.

Information stored on your device

Aeon stores preferences and feature state in browser local storage. Depending on the features used, this may include layer visibility, interface settings, locally created workspace or feature state, annotations, bookmarks, searches, reports, profile-like labels, and locally simulated synchronization state.

You can remove this information using your browser’s site-data controls. Some Aeon controls also clear particular settings. Clearing browser data may permanently remove saved local state.

Hosting requests and operational logs

Aeon is hosted using Vercel. When your browser requests Aeon pages and assets, ordinary network information leaves your device. Vercel may process information such as your IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, request time, response status, and diagnostic or security data to deliver, protect, and operate the service.

Sercle does not state a specific Vercel log-retention period or processing location because those provider facts have not been independently fixed for this version of Aeon.

Globe imagery and third-party requests

Aeon’s globe first attempts to load Cesium world imagery. This may cause your browser to contact Cesium or an imagery provider selected through Cesium. Those providers may receive ordinary request information, subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

If external imagery is unavailable, Aeon uses bundled Cesium NaturalEarthII imagery served from the same origin as Aeon. That fallback does not require a third-party imagery request, although the ordinary request to Aeon’s Vercel-hosted origin still occurs.

Analytics and performance monitoring

The current version of Aeon does not include Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, Google Analytics, or another visitor-analytics integration. Internal product features whose names include words such as “analytics” or “telemetry” operate as local application state and are not deployed visitor tracking. Hosting and security request logs are separate from visitor analytics.

Accounts, cloud synchronization, and paid features

The current version of Aeon does not provide production user accounts, authentication, paid subscriptions, purchases, or paid features. Interface panels or data-model fields referring to accounts, identity, profiles, marketplaces, deployment, or cloud services do not mean those services are active.

The current cloud-synchronization interface uses a local deterministic provider and browser local storage. It does not upload local feature content to a Sercle cloud account or provide production cloud project synchronization.

Current data transmissions

The current Aeon application has no application API routes for submitting locally stored feature content to Sercle. Based on the reviewed version, network transmission is limited to ordinary requests needed to load and operate the Vercel-hosted site and the attempted external imagery request described above.

Aeon does not claim that no data ever leaves your device because those hosting and imagery requests occur. If you separately contact Sercle by email, Sercle receives the information you choose to send.

Use, retention, and deletion

Hosting information may be used to deliver Aeon, maintain availability, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, protect security, and comply with legal obligations. Sercle does not sell personal information.

Browser-local state remains until cleared by you, removed by an Aeon control, or removed by your browser or device. Email and operational records may be retained as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal compliance, and service operation, subject to applicable law and provider controls.

Children

Aeon is a general historical exploration product and is not directed specifically to children. The current version does not request a child’s name, contact information, account registration, or payment information through an application form.

Changes and contact

Sercle may update this notice when Aeon’s behavior changes, including if accounts, analytics, paid services, or production cloud synchronization are introduced. Material changes require an updated notice.
